China’s recycling industry maintained steady growth throughout 2025. According to the official 2026 China Renewable Resources Recycling Industry Report, the total recovery volume of 11 major renewable resource categories reached 417 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 4.1%.

The overall market value of the recycling industry hit CNY 1.39 trillion, rising 3.8% compared with 2024. Scrap steel still occupies the largest market share, accounting for more than 60% of the total recycling volume.

Waste batteries, waste tires and end-of-life vehicles have achieved prominent growth, benefited from national trade-in policies and improved regional recycling systems. More recycling stations are equipped with industrial waste balers to improve bale density and transportation efficiency.

Digital transformation and intelligent recycling equipment are accelerating industry standardization and large-scale development. More small and medium-sized recycling yards begin to use semi-automatic horizontal baler to realize standardized waste sorting and baling.
